Over the decades, the college has grown from a humble beginning into a vibrant centre of learning, nurturing generations of students and contributing significantly to the educational, social, and cultural development of the region.
Affiliated to Gauhati University, Dakshin Kamrup College offers Higher Secondary programmes in Arts and Science, along with undergraduate programmes in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP). The college also offers postgraduate programmes in Assamese and Zoology, providing students with opportunities for advanced learning and academic growth. With 24 academic departments and a large student community, the institution continues to uphold its tradition of quality education while adapting to the changing needs of the modern world.
Guided by the motto “Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya”—Lead us from darkness to enlightenment—the college strives to impart education that goes beyond the acquisition of knowledge.
